Birmingham Airport Main Terminal

Birmingham’s main terminal was opened in 1984. Since then a second terminal was opened to accommodate the increase in passengers. However, to improve passenger’s experience at Birmingham Airport the airport was made into a one terminal facility again in February 2011.

Today around 36 airlines operate from Birmingham Airport's main terminal.

Arrivals concourse is on the ground floor of the main terminal. You can check arrivals online.

Check-in desks are located on the ground floor in the main concourse.

Departure Lounges are on the first floor.

Boarding usually begins around 45 minutes before departure.

Baggage storage (tel:+44 (0)121 767 7813), which also offers key holding and baggage delivery services, is available on the first floor.

Assistance with baggage and check-in is available by contacting the Airport Information Desk (tel: +44 (0)871 222 0072) prior to arrival.

InformationThe information desk is located on the ground floor next to WHSmith.
EntertainmentCheck out Sky Zone, an area full of interactive games and entertainment for children.
SmokingFor those wishing to smoke, there are designated areas outside the terminal building, or a dedicated area that is accessed through the Meriden Bar in the departures lounge.
Air Rail LinkThe Air Rail Link can be taken from the first floor, connecting the airport with Birmingham International Rail station and the NEC.
Prayer RoomBirmingham Airport's Multi Faith Prayer Room is located near Outsize Luggage on the Ground Floor. It is run by the Airport Chaplaincy team who can be contacted on 0121 767 8097.
